Professor San Ping Jiang is a professor at Curtin’s Department of Chemical Engineering and Deputy Director of the Fuels and Energy Technology Institute. He is an adjunct Professor of the Sunshine Coast University and holds Guest Professorships at a number of Chinese universities.
Professor Jiang has extensive academic and industry experience having held positions at Nanyang Technological University, CSIRO Materials and Manufacturing Division and Ceramic Fuel Cells Ltd.
His research interests are in energy conversion and storage technologies including fuel cells, supercapacitors, water and CO2 electrolysis, fundamental electrochemistry, solid state ionics, and nanostructured materials. His research has been extensively supported by agencies such as A*Star, DSTA and Ministry of Education of Singapore, and Air Force Research Laboratory and Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency of USA. Since joining Curtin in 2010, Professor Jiang has won one Australian Research Council (ARC) Linkage, four ARC Discovery Projects and one project from the US Office of Naval Research.
Professor Jiang has published more than 340 journal papers, 12 book chapters, four books, which have accrued more than 12,500 citations and h-index of 63, and delivered nearly 100 invited public seminars. In 2016, Professor Jiang was recognised as the Most Cited Researcher in Energy Science and Engineering by Shanghai Jia Tong University’s ARWU/Elsevier.
